2023 KAPAL BioForum: Biotechnology Market Trend & Industry Outlook (Thursday, June 29, 2023 – 6:30 PM ~ 9:00 PM EDT @ Embassy of the Republic of Korea)

2023년 DMV 지역 (DC, Maryland, and Virginia)에서 개최되는 첫번째 바이오포럼에 여러분을 초대합니다. 

카팔에서는 오는 6/29일 “바이오시장 현황 및 전망”이란 주제로 다양한 전문 연사를 섭외하여 정보교류의 시간을 갖고자 하오니 적극적인 참여 부탁드립니다. 

In-Person 행사는 워싱턴 DC 주미한국대사관에서 오후 6:30 (미동부시간)에 시작하여 네트워킹과 석식이 제공되며, 이후 초청 연사들의 주제에 대한 설명과 발표 후 질의응답의 시간을 가질 예정입니다.

KAPAL has organized a variety of expert speakers on the topic of “Biotechnology Market Trend & Industry Outlook” on June 29th. We aim to provide a platform for information exchange, and we kindly request your active participation. 

(In-Person) The in-person event will start at 6:30 PM (Eastern Time) at the Korean Embassy. There will be networking opportunities and dinner provided. Following that, invited speakers will present on their respective topics, followed by a question and answer session.
* In-person attendees are required to bring identification when arriving at the event venue ( Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Washington DC).
** Due to dinner arrangements and limited seating capacity, it is important to accurately determine the number of in-person attendees. Therefore, please select the “In-Person Ticket” option only if you plan to attend the event in person. 

(Virtual) For those participating virtually (via webinar), the presentations by the invited speakers will be live-streamed starting at 7:30 PM (Eastern Time).

KHIDI is looking for “Connect & Development Science Advisory Board(C&D SAB)” who can provide consulting services to Korean pharmaceutical companies for new drug development and global commercialization.

1. Job Description

  • Roles

Provide online/offline consulting for Korean companies through e-mail, phone calls, etc

KWiSE Forum 3: Impact of Climate Change on Infectious Disease (November 3rd, 8 PM EST)

Dear All,

The NIH and Washington DC Chapters of the Korean-American Women in Science and Engineering (KWiSE) are proud to host a virtual forum “Impact of Climate Change on Human Life”. (https://sites.google.com/view/kwise2022web)

During the 4-part forum series, internationally renowned experts from the United States and South Korea will share their experience and research on policy, health, disease, and food. 

The third event, starting at 8 PM (EST) on November 3rd (November 4th in Korea at 9 AM ), will focus on the impact of climate change on Infectious disease. Dr. Daesup Song at Seoul National University (South Korea) will talk about “Spillover Infection of Coronavirus and Application History of the Coronavirus Vaccine in Various Species”. Claudia Brown at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC, USA) will focus on “US Climate and Health Adaptation Strategies: From Science to Practice”.

최근에 전래없는 미국 서부 지역의 가뭄과 폭염, 한국의 태풍과 홍수 피해등 지구촌 곳곳이 기후변화로 인한 심각한 재난을 경험하면서 우리들의 삶을 위협하고 있습니다.

이에 재미여성과학자헙회 (KWiSE)의 NIH와  DC지부가 공동으로 “기후변화가 인간의 삷에 미치는 영향 (Impact of Climate Change on Human Life)라는 제목의 네번에 걸친 포럼을 준비하였습니다. (https://sites.google.com/view/kwise2022web)”

이번 포럼에서는 미국과 한국의 각 분야별 전문가를 초청하여 기후변화 대응 정책을 비롯한 기후 변화가 인류의 건강, 질병 및 식량/농업에 미치는 영향및 대책에 대한 강연을 들으실 수 있습니다.
