Psomagen, Inc. is a genomic sequencing and data analysis company that offers advancements in translational research, precision medicine, biomedical research, and agricultural science. Responsibilities

  • Strong domain knowledge in genomics, excellent programming skills, and experience applying that knowledge with next generation sequencing technologies
  • To combine research in microbiology, medicine, health-related studies with information technology to develop strategic and tactical plan toward genetic testing product development
  • To analyze shotgun metagenomic dataset from human-associated microbiome attributed to health and disease status
  • Scientific collaborations with physicians and scientists for clinical studies
  • Working closely with software developers to integrate research finding toward product development

Qualifications

  • Must be highly motivated and have strong ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and customers
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Minimum of three years of practical experience working in NGS technologies is preferred
  • Good understanding of genomics, molecular biology, microbiology, and technologies such as microarray and next-generation sequencing
  • Experience with variation analysis from next-generation sequencing data (Whole Genome Sequencing, Whole Exome Sequencing, RNA sequencing, 16S sequencing and Whole metagenome sequencing)
  • Must be able to work effectively both independently and as a team player
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill
  • Ability to analyze, manage, interpret, visualize and illustrate scientific data
  • Self-directed and highly adaptable and collaborative

Education

  • Ph.D. (or MS with 3+ years of relevant experience, or BS with 5+ years of relevant experience) in life sciences including computational biology, bioinformatics, and statistics
  • Medical Technologist is strongly preferred

THE COMPANY

NeoImmuneTech, Inc. (NIT) is a U.S.-based company for the U.S. and European markets in collaboration with Korean-based Genexine. NIT is developing T-cell focused immunotherapeutic designed to prime, enhance and extend the activity of current and future therapies in cancer and infectious diseases. Our lead product, NT-I7,
a T cell growth factor, has the potential to amplify and prolong anti-tumor activity, which is pivotal to extending survival of cancer patients. NT-I7 is being studied in multiple clinical trials in solid tumors, and being planned for testing in hematologic malignancies, additional solid tumors and other immunology-focused indications.

PURPOSE OF POSITION
The ideal candidate is a scientist expert in the filed of oncology or immunology who is passionate about expanding the frontiers of immune-oncology and delivering novel immunotherapies to cancer patients. In this role, the individual will be a pivotal contributor, helping NIT advance existing and emerging drug candidates into the clinic, and support the development and implementation of translational strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design and execute studies to address key translational research questions, such as evaluate mechanism of action, rational drug combinations, new disease indications, and novel biomarkers in preclinical and translational research settings
• Develop and manage external collaborations with academic collaborators and contract research organizations
• Devise and implement Research and Development strategy to support NIT’s long-term growth
• Provide scientific expertise in cross-functional projects within the company
• Mentor 1-2 research associates

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
• PhD in immunology, oncology, biochemistry, cell or molecular biology, pharmacology, medical science, or related fields, or M.S. with 3+ years of relevant industry experience
• Previous industry experience in drug development in biotech or pharma setting
• Solid understanding of cancer biology and/or immuno-oncology.
• Expertise in biomarker development
• Expertise in in-vitro and in-vivo methods to characterize cancer and immune cell phenotype and function, such as cell culture, flow cytometry, western blot, ELSIA, preclinical tumor models, gene expression, next-generation sequencing, immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence
• Highly motivated and able to work independently, able to work productively in a team environment and take ownership of multiple projects

• Well organized and demonstrated ability in preparing technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills are essential
• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with a problem-solving mind-set

[Immunomic Therapeutics] Senior Scientist with significant virology experience

Job Description

Immunomic Therapeutics is seeking a talented, experienced and motivated Senior Scientist with significant virology experience. The successful candidate will join a team of immunologists, and vaccine researchers that drive and deliver the preclinical in vitro and in vivo development of vaccines and antibodies based on the UNITE platform. The candidate will work on viral vaccines, antibodies and novel approaches to target viral pathogens using the UNITE platform. Deep knowledge and understanding of virology and how it can be applied to select and validate novel vaccine and antibody targets are needed. Experience in taking vaccines from concept to clinical candidate is required. The ability to effectively communicate across internal multi-disciplinary teams and with external partners is required.  A strong fluency in Korean is required.

Essential Functions

  • Develop new ideas how to either design novel or to improve on existing vaccine candidates and/or platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with molecular biology and virology techniques is required: recombinant DNA techniques, RNA isolation, RT-PCR, sequence analysis etc.
  • Hands-on experience in cell culture and virology techniques such as primary cell isolation and culture, antiviral assays, immune cell functional assays, multi-color flow, and ELISA/Luminex.
  • Perform standard cell culture and use transfection protocols to generate viral vectors and vaccine candidates.
  • Routinely track and document results in laboratory notebooks and databases.
  • Assist and support junior team members to accomplish project goals and milestones.
  • Familiarity with diverse software packages for cloning, primer design, as well as sequence alignment and blasting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and productively in a team-oriented environment.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Required Education and Experience

  • A Ph.D. degree in virology, immunology, molecular biology and other related disciplines with >7 years drug discovery experience at pharmaceutical, biotech or academia
  • The candidate is expected to have a strong background in molecular virology and vaccines
    and in conducting research using the latest technologies and advances in science
  • Fluent in Korean
  • Excellent communication skills are required as the candidate will participate in oral presentations and the preparation of written technical reports.
